From the supplier: Lawyers representing insurance industry trade organizations have filed briefs with the Supreme Court asking the High Court to ensure insurers' access to federal courts during insurance company bankruptcy proceedings. The briefs, filed in the case of Quackenbush v. Allstate Insurance Co., claimed that a technical legal doctrine allowing federal courts to abstain from taking certain cases does not apply to cases involving bankrupt insurers and other insurers and reinsurance companies.
